Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 16, 1920. The Sorority's international programs include Z-HOPE (Zetas Helping Other People Excel) which, through Mind, Body, and Spirit serve to empower people from all walks of life.

Our National History

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded January 16, 1920, at Howard University in Washington, D.C by five trailblazing women -Arizona Cleaver (Stemons), Pearl Anna Neal, Myrtle Tyler (Faithful), Viola Tyler (Goings), Fannie Pettie (Watts).


With the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood at the forefront,  Zeta chapters and auxiliaries have given and continue to give untotaled hours of voluntary service to educate the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities, and promote legislation for social and civic change.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is honored to have formed many wonderful community-based partnerships. Whether administering our Z-HOPE program or giving financial assistance through our National Educational Foundation, we do so with the understandingthat service to the community is our greatest legacy.


Our current initiatives:

Elder Care Initiatives, Prematurity Awareness Sundays, Adopt-A-School, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, International Women of Color, Triple Negative Breast Cancer.  

Our Membership 

Zeta is comprised of over 125,000 College-educated, dynamic, community service-driven, diverse and professional women. 


These members serve in over 800 chapter worldwide! You can find Zeta Chapters in the USA, Africa, Asia, Europe, the Carribean and in the Middle East, creating a global network of friendship and support that will last a lifetime!

Our Chapter

The Inkster Zetas are a group of hard-working, dedicated Sisters who are invested in Service.  Our membership consists of college-degreed women from all walks of life and professions including Educators, Financial Experts, Arts Professionals, Designers, Engineers, Military Professionals. 

Women in thier twenties share a deep sisterhood with women well into thier 70s with a mutual respect and zeal for learning. 


Zeta Nu Zeta Chapter is currently partnered with the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan to help the Inkster Community live healthier lifestyles.
